Engineered

Engineered

Each one-hour episode of Engineered takes curious viewers on a fast-paced and fact-filled adventure into the world of product design, manufacturing and testing – a world where traditional assembly lines collide with cutting edge technology to shape, forge, weld or build the objects we encounter in our everyday lives.

Whether it’s as complex as an automobile constructed almost entirely by robots, or as simple as a golf ball designed for optimal aerodynamics, each episode of Engineered features four familiar objects. While these objects may seem pretty ordinary, the story behind them – the challenges of their design, the machines that make them, and the tests that ensure they work – will definitely surprise you.

Our guide for this unique insider’s tour is Marshall Brain – best-selling author, founder of one of Time Magazine’s “50 Best Websites,” howstuffworks.com, and an expert when it comes to explaining things. Marshall’s natural curiosity and real-world knowledge make even the most mind-bending mechanics and science entertaining and easy to understand.

Go beyond the everyday nuts and bolts of an object and find out how some of the most fascinating things in life are ENGINEERED.
