In 2007, Ross Kemp went to Britain’s frontline in Afghanistan to see for himself the extraordinary job British soldiers do as they attempt to bring peace and stability to this war-torn land. What he witnessed and filmed with his crew was the most talked about piece of television on the fight against the Taliban so far. This critically acclaimed series struck a chord with many, including the press, those in the government and most importantly, the viewer. Many said it was the first piece of television to accurately illustrate the role of the troops in Afghanistan today
This series aims to rebuild on the huge success of the first, allowing Ross to report home the vital and important role of the British Armed Forces in Afghanistan today. It will help to ensure that the exploits of British troops are kept in the forefront of people’s minds, providing information for an audience that has proven interest in what is happening on Britain’s frontline.
Filming in Afghanistan took place over a period of three weeks in September 2008, the second series is made up of new footage however there will be a short re-cap which uses some of the footage from the first series.
